In science this term we will learning about living things and their habitats and plants.

We will be learning:

• What things are alive, dead or have never been alive

• World habitats and the animals that live within them

• How animals have adapted to survive in different habitats

• Local habitats and the animals that live within them

• Microhabitats and the animals that live within them

• Food chains

• To identify the parts of plants and trees

• To name a variety of different trees found in the UK

• About the characteristics of deciduous and evergreen trees.

Spring 1

In science this term we will learning about materials and their properties.

We will be learning:​​​​​​​

• The names of common materials

• The difference between the name of an object and the material it is made from

• To describe the properties of objects and materials (E.g. smooth, shiny, dull, hard, see through, opaque, etc.)

• How different materials can be changed by squashing, bending, twisting and stretching

• To sort materials in different ways.
