Autumn 1

Our geography this term focuses on the location of different areas of the World

In geography lessons we will be learning...

• The names of the 7 continents and 5 oceans and their locations
• The locations of the North and South Poles, the Equator and hot and cold areas of the World
• The names and locations of the countries that make up the United Kingdom
• How to use globes, atlases and maps
• About seasonal and daily weather patterns in the United Kingdom

Autumn 2

Our history lessons will focus on Scott of the Antarctic.  Children will learn about his expedition to Antarctica and what went wrong.  They will examine different sources of information and discuss what we can learn from them. 

Spring 1

This term we will be investigating the lives and accomplishments of the Wright Brothers in our history lessons!

Spring 2

In our second geography unit, the children will be exploring, using and creating maps!

They will use maps and aerial photographs to explore their local area.

They will learn how to use directional language and compass points to follow and plan their own routes.

Summer 1

Children will learn some of the key similarities and differences between The Gujarat and The United Kingdom.

They will learn about capital cities, weather patterns and famous landmarks.

Summer 2

In our final history unit, children will learn about the migration of people from different countries to the United Kingdom. They will learn the reasons why people chose to come to the United Kingdom and the things they experienced upon their arrival.
